65% of the global population is lactose-intolerant, yet so many of us have been conditioned to view cow’s milk as a “normal” and even nutritious food. That upset stomach and bloating? That’s not normal. It’s your body telling you dairy doesn’t do a body good.
Beyond lactose intolerance, some people can even be allergic to cow’s milk – about 7.5% of adults are. If you have a severe allergy, you might already know this, but milder allergy sufferers may not be aware that their symptoms are directly related to their consumption of dairy. This is particularly true for those who don’t experience symptoms right away – it can take up to 72 hours for cow’s milk allergy symptoms to present themselves.
Ditching dairy can alleviate both lactose intolerance and allergy symptoms. Your digestive issues, acne, eczema, inflammation, and more can all be drastically reduced or even cured by giving up dairy.
Even if you don’t experience negative reactions to cow’s milk, you can also benefit from cutting it loose. Cow’s milk has been associated with increased risk of prostate and ovarian cancer, along with heart disease and type 2 diabetes.
