Pear Apple Crisp
Fall is my favorite time to make dessert. There’s something so special about the crop of fruits that are in season that time of year. This dessert recipe is a perfect homage to two fantastic, fiber-filled fruits of fall: pear and apple. It’s simple, satisfying, and sweet with a crazy, crunchy mouthfeel thanks to the gluten-free, oat-based crumble on top. Grab a glass of warm cider and dive right in, why don’t ya? Plus, one medium pear contains 15 percent of your RDA of copper, a trace mineral that’s essential for a healthy nervous system. In your brain, copper ions affect components that are responsible for making the neural synapses (junctions that allow your nerves to communicate) stronger or weaker.
