Merry Mocktail Recipe

The Merry Mocktail is the perfect holiday-inspired beverage for everyone! Athletes will appreciate the beet juice, which can help promote blood flow due to its naturally occurring nitric oxide. Combining it with orange juice and cranberries gives it a seasonal twist. But this doesn’t need to just be a winter beverage- it is refreshing year round!

Ingredients

1 cup fresh beet juice; or 1 cup sparkling water mixed with 1 tablespoon beet juice powder

2 cups fresh blood orange (or regular orange) juice

3/4 cup fresh lime juice

3 tablespoons maple syrup

1/2 cup fresh or frozen cranberries or blueberries (optional)

3 cups ice cubes

Orange and lime slices/wedges to garnish

Coarse margarita salt and/or sugar for rim (optional)

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to a blender. Puree ingredients or pulse for thicker ice chunks in your frozen margaritas.
  1. Salt/sugar glass rims by sliding a lime wedge around the rim and then dipping the sticky and wet glass rim in the salt on a shallow plate.
  1. Fill glasses with the blended ingredients and garnish with lime and orange slices. Enjoy!
