After both @starbucks and @dunkin were sued for allegedly violating the Americans With Disabilities Act, we knew it was only a matter of time, for good reason, before we saw a third lawsuit, and now @peetscoffee is under fire 🔥

Four customers with lactose intolerance are suing Peet’s Coffee according to the San Francisco Business Times. They allege it’s discriminatory to charge more for nondairy milk alternatives; the business charges $0.80 extra for oat, almond, or soy milk, though per ounce those milks cost less than standard dairy cream. Plaintiffs who are either lactose intolerant or who have milk allergies argue that the non-dairy surcharge is a federal violation of the ADA.

📢🗣️☕️ Now, ICYMI, our Justice Cup Campaign has been fighting against @Starbucks for years urging them to drop their plant milk uncharge as it IS discrimination to charge for plant milk, especially towards the 95% of individuals of color who are lactose intolerant and being forced to pay extra for a drink that won’t make them sick.

We’ve had enough, and now the people are letting us know that they’ve had enough, too.

Happy Earth Day 🌎 🎉 Have you ever wondered what you could do to reduce your carbon footprint by 8% every day? The answer is in the MILK… Cow’s milk, that is 👇

In a recent study, researchers evaluated the environmental and health impact of simple food substitutions in the United States diet and concluded that changing what we eat would reduce our carbon footprint. They found that swapping out dairy milk for plant-based milks could lead to an 8% reduction in a person’s daily carbon footprint. Consumers choosing to adopt the study’s proposed substitutions would see substantial reductions in their personal dietary carbon footprint, ranging from 8% reductions from milk and dairy or beverage substitutions to >50% reductions from protein or mixed-dish substitutions ‼️

By ditching dairy and going plant-based, you can reduce carbon emissions by 45%, land use by 55%, and water use by 107% (switch4good.org/planetary-responsibility). All you have to do to make a positive impact is swap out ONE PRODUCT, and you’ll make a huge difference for the Earth! The stats tell the tale: you can effectively fight climate change with diet change!

Does dairy increase your risk of dying? @dr.luckym

Does dairy increase your risk of dying? @dr.luckymd broke down this important study for you! When Harvard researchers studied 200,000 people over 30 years, they compared the group eating the most amount of dairy to the group eating the least amount of dairy, and found that there was an increased risk of dying from cardiovascular diseases and cancers. They also found that by drinking just a 1/2 serving of whole milk per day could increase the risk of dying by 11% 🤯
